Every year we give away a number of scholarships to assist clowns in their journey to become the best clown they can be. Claudia Nilson was a long time camper that gave so much to others and was dedicated to clowning and to Moose Camp. The Claudia Nilson Memorial Scholarship is named in her honor and continues her spirit of giving and growing the art of clowning.

Through our fun filled Claudia Nilson Scholarship Auction at camp each year, we raise funds for our scholarships.

 

Who is eligible?

1.  You have always wanted to be a clown and are ready for an adventure!

2.  A new clown who is excited to learn more about this wonderful art of funny business.

3.  An old clown (lol!) who wants to learn more to advance their skills and share it with others.

4.  A clown who has no local clown club or education opportunities.

5.  Financial need is considered, but is not the only criteria.

6.  You must be 18 years of age or older.

All applications must be completely filled out either in ink, printed, typed, or emailed. Applications must be postmarked by March 15 to be considered for the upcoming year. Winners will be notified by April 1st. The number of scholarship awards will be determined by the availability of funds from the previous year’s auction.

 

A photo of yourself in clown make-up is required for us to consider your application. Very little importance is put on this picture, so be honest and don’t stress over it. If you are a true beginner and have never put make-up on before, then let us know.

This is a $500.00 Scholarship. Please do not apply if you do not have the remaining funds for your registration and transportation. The only barrier to applying is that you cannot be a recipient from the immediate previous year. Other than that, EVERYONE is encouraged to apply. Remember, the scholarship is for all levels of experience!
