Reservations & Rental Policy

We welcome schools, organizations, companies, and -- of course -- individuals to place reservations on the costumes they want, to ensure that no one else happens to take your costume on the day you need it!


To Reserve a Costume:
Call or visit the store to find out if we have a costume in the size and style you need. We cannot guarantee that costumes not tried on will fit, so it is best to try on the items to make sure they will be the right size. It that is not possible, please provide the necessary measurements (chest, waist, hips, outseam) so we can approximately size up the items for you.

Provide a valid credit card (in person, by fax, or by phone) and dates to place a reservation.

A reservation is the same as a rental. This means that if you cancel or do not pick up your costume, your credit card will still be charged for the rental. We're sorry, but there are NO REFUNDS on rentals. Any changes or substitutions you make after you have placed the reservation may be subject to an additional fee.

If you decide NOT to place a reservation, then you will just have to take the risk of someone else walking off with your perfect costume!




To Rent a Costume:


It's as EASY as 1 - 2 - 3!
  1. Bring the costume you want to the front counter and tell us your name, phone number, and the dates of the renal period.
  2. Provide a valid credit card for the Security Deposit and payment for the Rental. The Security Deposit is the replacement value of the costume and is never actually charged to your card unless you ruin the costume or fail to return it. The methods of payment we accept for the Rental cost are: Visa, Master Card, Discover, Check, and Cash.
  3. Enjoy your costume and take care of it during the rental period, and then bring it back on the same hangers on or before the return date.


Rental Policy:
also known as "the fine print"

  1. The Costume Shoppe assumes absolutely no responsibility for anything that may occur while lessee is wearing the costume.
    This may include intergalactic bar fights, Roman gladiator combat, and photos with the Easter Bunny.
  2. The Costume Shoppe will make adequate substitution of costume should circumstances occur in which a costume becomes unavailable.
    Case example of when this might happen: one scurvy pirate may keep YOUR reserved pirate costume out later than they should, and we would have to plunder our treasure chest to find you a suitable replacement. Aargh!
  3. Costumes are to be returned on the same hangers (and with the same bags if they went out in bags).
    We horde our precious hangers, so please bring them back!
  4. Costume rental period is 24 hours unless specifically noted on rental agreement. Special deal for groups which need to keep costumes out for more than a week: "Time and a half". To save you money, we will only charge you 1.5 times the rental fee for the entire time you have the costumes out, up to 10 business days (or two weeks). For example: if you need to rent a Victorian blouse for 2 weeks, instead of charging you $5 per day for two weeks, we would only charge you a flat rate $7.50 for the entire 2 weeks time. That's a savings of $42.50!
  5. Additional rental fee up to replacement value of costume could accrue for costumes not returned.
    So get thee back on time, ye scoundrel!
  6. The cost of normal washing and care is already included in the price of the rental. However, if your costume requires special stain care or repair, additional fees may be applied, up to the replacement value of the costume.
    So stay away from such treacherous places as "Mustard Mountain" and "Cigarette Burn Canyon" or else pay the price, buddy!
  7. There are no refunds on rentals or reservations. If you do not pick up the costume, your rental fee will be charged to your credit card.
  8. We do not guarantee that costumes not tried on will fit.

Tuxedo Rental


If you have more than three weeks before your event -
Then you have time on your side, and you can choose the exact size, color, and pieces for your ensemble. We offer two excellent suppliers: Anderson's Formal Wear and Jim's Formal Wear. Price range: $79 - $129

If you have less than three weeks before your event -
Then you can still choose your tuxedo from either of our excellent suppliers, but you will be asked to list at least two choices, just in case your first choice is not available. Substitutions may be made. Price range: $79 - $129

If you have less than five days before your event -
Then you are left with the option to rent your tux directly from our store. We have over three dozen stylish tuxedos in a limited number of sizes ready for immediate rental. Price range: $39 - $99.

Ordering Your Tuxedo:
We encourage you to check out www.jimsformalwear.com and use their exclusive "Build-A-Tux" interactive feature, which allows you to mix and match items to create the Ultimate Tuxedo, just perfect for you! Once you have created the perfect tuxedo ensemble, you can print a report and bring it in to The Costume Shoppe. Or... you can utilize the Find-A-Store feature to find us on the website and send information about the tuxedo ensemble you created. Then, we will contact you to discuss the next step in the ordering process.

For Prom -
No need to make an appointment. We are open 9am - 5pm, Monday - Friday and there is always someone at the front counter to help you with your color selection and take your measurements. The ordering and measuring process should take no more than 20 minutes. We urge you to order your tuxedo at least four weeks before Prom to ensure that you do not have to worry about substitutions being made to your order.
You can pick up your tux on the Thursday before Prom and return it by 12pm the Monday after Prom.


For a Wedding -
Please call or visit the shop or send us an email to set up an appointment for us to help you with your wedding tuxedo needs. If you are not able to come in during our regular office hours, we may be able to schedule your visit during an evening or weekend. We would be happy to explain all your options and help you make your big day as special as can be!
The wedding party can pick up their tuxes on the Thursday before the wedding and return it by 12pm the Monday after the wedding.

Large Groups


Are you looking for an economical way to get great costumes for your next community theatre play?

Are you trying to stay under budget while making kids in the school program look fantastic?

Are you in charge of outfitting your next company event, but have no idea where to start?


Well, we have just the thing for you! The Costume Shoppe has thousands of costumes and accessories to fit every number, shape, and need.

If you have a group of 6 or more people, we kindly request that you bring in the necessary measurements instead of bringing the entire group to the store, if at all possible. The measurements we need are: Neck, Chest, Waist, Hips, Outseam, Normal Clothing Size, Shoe Size, and Hat Size (or head circumference measurement).

Most organizations prefer to be billed for their rental, and we happy to oblige. We can also work with Purchase Orders. Please call the office and ask for details.

On top of our already reasonable rental prices, we also offer the following discounts:

Time and a half
This is a special deal for groups which need to keep costumes out for more than three days. There is no minimum quantity requirement for this offer. We will only charge you 1.5 times the rental fee for the entire time you have the costumes out, up to 10 business days (or 2 weeks). For example: if you need to rent a Victorian blouse for 2 weeks, instead of charging you $5 per day for two weeks, we would only charge you a flat rate $7.50 for the entire 2 weeks time. That's a savings of $42.50!

You must ask for this discount at the time of booking; this offer is not retroactive.

10% Discount for Booking
This is a special deal for a rental of 10 or more complete costumes. If you book your event date with us 2 months in advance, we will offer you 10% off your entire rental (discount not valid on retail items). No money or reservations are necessary at the time of booking. We only need the event dates, approximate number of costumes, and your contact information. You must ask for this discount at the time of booking; this offer is not retroactive.
